The Lansing Police Department teamed up with Head Start for a basketball camp

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) The Lansing Police Department teamed up with Head Start for a basketball camp Wednesday.
The camp teaches children and their parents the importance of physical activity and learning. Organizers say it also shows children that police officers are there to help them.
Antonio Botello, III, a family advocate for Head Start, said, “I think showing our youth that the police officers are here for our good, and they’re out here to support us. What a better way to advocate for these children and these families than to show them working with our police department here in our local community.”
This was the first so-called “Bitty Basketball Camp.” Head Start hopes to offer more in the future.
