What Is a Kinship Care Support Group? A support group for relative caregivers is designed to provide an outlet for caregivers to discuss frustrations, successes, and challenges and gain input and advice from others who have experienced or are experiencing similar situations. A support group will provide additional resources to help the caregiver continue to provide healthy, stable, and patient care for the child Topics may include understanding your role, exploring legal concerns, promoting self-care, developing and refining parenting skills, community resources, looking into the future, and other information designed to support kinship caregivers.
