Nursing Staff:  

• Work to link families with a doctor
• Review children’s health records
• Do screenings:  vision, hearing, blood lead, hemoglobin and blood pressure
• Offer parents chances to get health and safety information
• Promote health and safety practices in the program

Special Needs Staff:

• Recruit children already diagnosed with special needs
• Help identify children who may have developmental delays
• Initiate and track referrals for children who need further evaluation
• Work with school districts to ensure special education services are provided
• Provide support and resources for parents of children with special needs

Classroom Consultants:

• Visit classrooms to assist the staff in planning for children who may need additional support in social emotion development  
• Consult with parents and teachers concerned about a child’s behavior or mental health
• Support families in coping with stressful life events that effect their parenting or their child
• Consult to the program regarding curriculum and program practices that promote mental wellness

Oral Health Coordinator:

• Assists families with their child’s dental needs
• Follows up on initial dental exams and referrals
• Provides Oral Health trainings for staff, parents and the community

Nutritionist: 

• Visits the classroom to ensure children are served nourishing meals and snacks which meet federal nutrition guidelines
• Consults with parents of children with food allergies or other special dietary needs in order to plan appropriate substitutions
• Visits the classrooms to weigh and measure the children to screen for growth patterns which may be of nutritional concern
• Available to meet with parents who have questions or concerns related to their child’s eating
